How do you learn how to be a leader.
You can read books but you have to jump in and do the work of a leader.
The best way is to be and understudy or apprentice.
He was close to fifty when he was called to assist the leader.
When his leader told him to do something, he did it. No whining.
He was an apprentice for about thirty-five years before how became the leader.
His teacher had passed away and now it was up to him to complete the mission.
It was Joshua who lead Israel into the promise land.
Joshua worked along side Moses. We first see Joshua in Exodus 17:10. Moses sent him to war.
Later Joshua would go up the mountain with Moses as Moses was to meet God.
Joshua learned leadership for Moses. Joshua learned the key to leadership was following God’s instruction.
In the book of Joshua chapter 1 we read of Joshua’s commission as leader. God told him what he was to do and how he was to do it..
First we see again that Joshua was Moses’ assistant.
Then God tells Joshua that it is he who would lead Israel over this Jordan and into the promised land. It was the land that God was giving to Israel.
God said that is was here, at that place along the Jordan, and at that time, Joshua was to lead Israel to a place God has promised them.
Joshua had come to know that when God promises something, it will happen.
God gives Joshua the dimensions of the objective by describing the boundaries of the land Israel whole inherit.
