Networking is an effective and powerful tool for retaining as well as gaining clients.
In your networking efforts it is key to be strategic and consistent.
Use professionalism and creativity to build relations and expand your network.
What is your purpose for networking?
Identify 3 objectives you wish to achieve through networking.
Join a professional group or association which supports your networking goals.
Map out a 12-month calendar and actively and consistently attend events/activities hosted by your professional group.
Each month, commit to meeting/connecting with 3 members of your professional group. Invite them for one-on-one, coffee or strategic meeting. Discuss networking opportunities and additional business involvement.
Schedule a 15-20 phone interview with your 5 of your top clients. Ask them about their networking and how you can assist or help them in their endeavors. Offer to invite them to beneficial networking events, sponsor or bring awareness to their company activities or simply support as an accountability partner.
During the half way point of your networking (after 6 months), evaluate and measure your networking progress. Make the necessary changes, adjustments or improvements to keep on track with your networking goals and agenda.
