Jesus was born a babe.
He grew up.
His mother and father showed him the ropes so to speak.
Adam did not have this.
His total reliance was on God. But this was not enough for him.
A Relationship with Christ Atones for Our Sin.
Yes Jesus relied on the Father to tell Him what to do.
This was different. Jesus has spent eons with the Father in Heaven before He was born.
Jesus knew the Father. He is the express image of the Father. He was God incarnate.
Adam soon wanted to be like God. Jesus did not have this issue.
Did Adam get tired of being the worker? Did he want to be the boss telling others what to do?
It’s not clear why Adam decided he did not to follow God.
Adam defied God. As a result, every human born since Adam is sin enabled.
We can’t escape it on our own. It’s part of us.
Our only choice is to have a relationship with Christ.
God set it up at the beginning of time that we would need Jesus in our lives.
Without shed blood there can be no forgiveness of sin.
For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it for you on the altar to make atonement for your souls, for it is the blood that makes atonement by the life. Leviticus 17:11 (ESV)
God established a Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur), which falls on the tenth day of the seventh month, known as Tishri – usually in October. In the time of the temple, animal sacrifices were made to atone for sin. This is done ever year.
God sent Jesus as a sacrifice for our sin. Through the shed blood of Jesus our sin are forgiven. This is a onetime for all time event. Jesus atoned for our sin the one time, once and for all.
A relationship with Christ eliminates the need for a day of atonement every year. Jesus said, “it is finished.”
The shed blood of Christ covers our sin.
Is it clear what God did for us?
Is it clear that God loves us?
And Jesus – how did He go through all the pain and agony on the cross? He did it because He loves us.
How can we thank Jesus for what He did?
Do you need a relationship with Christ?
