Did you plan your coming to Christ?
One day you were setting your goals and said in two years I will become a follower of Jesus Christ.
Until then I’ll live and do what ever I want.
Then the day cam and you said, “well this is it. I repent of my sin and believe that Jesus is the Son of God; that he died for me and my sins are forgiven.”
There you go. All’s well. I’m changed. I’m a new person. Praise God.
Well, maybe not.
More than likely it was unplanned.
I’m not saying you woke up some morning and thought I want to be a Christian. I want to fallow Jesus.
There were most likely life altering events that started you thinking.
Or, someone took the time to really explain the good news of Christ.
It may not have been instantaneous, but it was a bit unexpected. To some it was a shocking event. to others it was not a surprise; it was going to happen someday.
The point is that most of us, our decision to follow Jesus not foreseen.
God is unpredictable. He Chose you and me before the world began. And we took up our cross within God’s plan.
You’ve read Matthew 5:2: And behold, a leper came to him and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.”
Matthew says behold. Now God planned for this leper to be there when Jesus came down from the mountain after finishing what is called the Sermon On The Mount.
But to Matthew it was not something he expected to happen.
A leper, approaching Jesus. The man was a complete sinner n the eyes of the law. But Jesus permitted it. And Jesus healed him.
Very much like you and me when we came to Christ.
Let me know what you think.
Let me know how you use stories from scripture to explain the love of Jesus to your tribe.
Shouldn’t we take the love of Jesus to the streets?
